Transcarpathian tourism experts at the Travel Exhibition

On 26 February 2015, the head of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Tourism Council, József Tarpai and one of its member, Olga Bokotej, as well as Sándor Fegyir, the head of the Tourism Department at the Uzhhorod National University and his collegue, Olexandr Kovalj participated at the Budapest Travel Exhibition with the help of the Consulate of Hungary in Berehovo.
Before visiting the exhibition, the delegation met Olivér Fodor, the head of Tourism and Hospitality Department of the Ministry of National Economy. Nóra Pataki chief counsellor also participated at the meeting. Olivér Fodor presented the system of state management of tourism in Hungary and spoke about the development plans for the years 2016-2020.
Then they discussed the tourism development in Transcarpathia. József Tarpai presented the structure of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Tourism Council. He said that the councils recent event was the Week of Hungarian Cuisine. He suggested that Ukraine, as well as Transcarpathia participates with its own stand at the Exhibition next year. In addition, he said that the Ukrainian-Hungarian Good Neighborhood Days may be organized within the framework of the BeregFest Festival in Berehovo. It would be great if Hungary would help to develop such systems as the sunflower trademark or the SZÉP card system.
